Job Description:
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a highly
skilled and detail-oriented Audio Visual Technical Manager to
oversee the daily operations of our AV department. This role
involves managing the setup, maintenance, and execution of
audio-visual systems across various Federal Agencies and Commercial
organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical
background in AV equipment, excellent leadership skills, and a
proven ability to deliver seamless AV support for a wide range of
clients. This is a remote position with some travel to FERC and the
FDA.Location: Remote / FERC - Washington, DC / FDA - White Oak,
MD
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Supervision:
- Manage a team of AV technicians, ensuring smooth operations and
high-quality service delivery for meeting prescribed Service Level
Agreements.
- Coordinate staff schedules for daily operation, events and
projects, ensuring proper staffing and support.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members
to keep up to date with the latest AV technologies and trends.
- Collaborate with the Impyrian Executive team to develop and
implement the AV division's strategic initiatives and market
positioning.
- Assist in defining and managing the AV division's operating
processes to improve efficiency and ensure seamless project
execution from inception to completion.
- Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturers to
define Impyrian's standard systems, secure dealership partnerships,
and support ongoing training.
- Partner with distributors to negotiate best pricing practices
and secure special project pricing for increased profitability AV
Systems Management.
- Oversee the installation, setup, and maintenance of AV
equipment including audio and visual systems.
- Ensure all AV equipment is functioning properly before and
during events and coordinate troubleshooting when necessary.
- Manage inventory of AV equipment, track usage, and coordinate
repairs or replacements as needed. Work with industry partners to
supplement inventory when needed. AV Production Coordination:
- Work with clients, production planners, and internal teams to
understand AV needs for multiple events, meetings, and conferences
happening simultaneously.
- Provide technical guidance and support to ensure optimal audio
and visual experiences during events.
- Monitor and manage on-site AV operations to troubleshoot and
resolve issues promptly. Budget & Resource Management:
- Assist in developing and manage budgets for AV operations,
ensuring cost efficiency and effective use of resources.
- Procure AV equipment, software, and supplies while ensuring
quality control and adherence to budgetary constraints.Quality
Control & Standards:
- Establish and enforce AV operational standards and best
practices to ensure consistency and quality of service.
- Regularly review and assess AV setups and performance to
identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements.Client &
Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders,
ensuring their AV needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Provide post-event feedback and reports to improve future
operations.Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field) or equivalent
experience.
- 10+ years of experience in AV operations or a related field,
with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Extensive knowledge of AV technologies, systems, and
equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot AV
issues quickly and efficiently.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full command of the English language.
- Experience with AV project management software and scheduling
tools is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tools.
- Certification in AV systems (e.g., CTS, AVIXA).
- Experience working with Federal Customer or large-scale
venues.
- Familiarity with video conferencing platforms and hybrid event
technology.Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
- Experience working in a government environment is

- May be required to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, speaking, hearing
