The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of hydraulics,
belt systems, motors, and other industrial machine mechanisms
essential for job procedures. Must be a team player with strong
attention to detail. In this position, you should also be able to
make decisions, troubleshoot, and perform repairs with little to no
supervision. This position is responsible for performing emergency
and routine maintenance on all manufacturing equipment, including
equipment changeovers, and assist production personnel as necessary
to minimize downtime. Millworks are responsible for the
installation and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and
pneumatic systems and ensuring that equipment is maintained in top
working condition through troubleshooting, repair, and preventative
maintenance. This includes diagnosing and repairing faulty
electrical components of machines such as motors, AC/DC drives, and
sensors as well as Automation controls, such as PLC IO.
--- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for repair or
transportation.
--- Build the foundation for machines.
--- Conduct packaging equipment changeovers to different
formats.
--- Construct and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and
tram rails.
--- Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics,
and blueprints to determine work procedures.
--- Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance to
avoid contamination or safety hazards.
--- Grind and file machinery parts.
--- Work with a range of hand tools including measuring tools,
welding and brazing equipment.
--- Perform basic PMs, mechanical maintenance and repairs across
the site.
--- Help maintain good housekeeping in mechanical and facility
areas.
--- Assists with small scale process improvement projects
--- Troubleshooting of various types of mechanical, electrical and
pneumatic systems such as Allen Bradley PLC's, VFD's, Conveyors,
Motors, and Pumps
--- Keeps plant equipment running and in good repair
--- Make repairs in a timely manner.
--- Making improvements to plant systems and facilities
--- Assists Plant staff with adjustments and changeovers of Plant
machinery as needed
--- Promptly reports to plant leadership all serious equipment
malfunctions, and suggested course of action
--- Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of repair shop, maintenance
office, and storage areas including all equipment, tools, supplies
and materials
--- Observe and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP), Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and Food
Quality Plan (FQP)
--- Take responsibility for producing high quality products in each
step of production
--- Maintain clean work area
--- Participating in all necessary training is required to
successfully perform job responsibilities
--- Determine which machines, techniques, and tools to use when
moving equipment and completing jobs.
Education or Equivalent: (Minimum required to perform job)
--- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a millwright or similar
job.
--- Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or High
School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant experience or
technical/vocational training
--- Advanced mechanical and electrical skills and education
--- Advanced Machine Shop Tools
--- Computer skills / Electronic Work
--- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics,
mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
--- Troubleshooting AC and DC Circuits from 24vDC to 480vAC
Knowledge/Skills Requirements: (List unique knowledge skills, or
problem-solving requirements)
--- Highly skilled in troubleshooting wrapping machines -
preferably GD wrapping machines.
--- Highly skilled in troubleshooting pouching machines -
preferably Volpak pouching machines.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
--- High school diploma or equivalent. May substitute equivalent
years of pharmaceutical manufacturing supervisory experience for
education.
--- 2 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience (or
applicable experience in a cGMP environment).
--- Must have a thorough knowledge of the equipment and processes
used in the facility and within the pharmaceutical industry or
equivalent manufacturing experience.
--- Must have a thorough knowledge of cGMP, FDA and DEA guidelines
and how to apply them effectively.
--- Thorough knowledge of Solid Dosage manufacturing preferred.
--- Excellent computer skills.
--- Able to manage priorities and projects prioritizing
effectively. Must communicate clearly, and manage people well.
--- Capability to work in a matrix organization.
--- Must be able to wear safety glasses, or specified eye
protection, in all designated areas
--- Must be able to follow any applicable plant safety
requirements
--- Must be fit-tested, trained and capable of wearing air
purifying respirator
--- Must be trained in plant hazardous material procedures
--- Must be able to use approved fall prevention devices when
performing elevated tasks
--- Must be capable of wearing steel-toed safety shoes for 8 to 12
hours a day, depending on duration of the shift
